{"id":1108,"date":"2018-01-14T15:58:31","date_gmt":"2018-01-14T15:58:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/simplymeandjeans.wordpress.com\/?p=1108"},"modified":"2025-04-09T17:23:44","modified_gmt":"2025-04-09T17:23:44","slug":"broken-to-worship","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/karenlawson.net\/?p=1108","title":{"rendered":"Broken to Worship"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Youthful ignorance saw myself as average.\u00a0 A pretty vessel that could be used by the master but was just as easily left on the shelf as an addition to His collection or passed over in favor of the beautiful vases with curved necks and golden engravings.\u00a0 Acceptable but not extraordinary.<\/p>\n<p>Experience proved myself to be ugly.\u00a0 Broken, cracked, wrinkled, ruddy.\u00a0 A clay pot deserving of the trash heep. \u00a0One whose purpose was forfeited because of its\u2019 condition.\u00a0 Useless to the King to carry scraps, much less His water or wine.\u00a0 Placed in a corner, hoping not to be seen but also not to be completely cast aside.<\/p>\n<p>Truth showed myself to be beautiful.\u00a0 A transformed and completely unique vessel.\u00a0 Still possessing the same cracks and broken places, but each one molded into a pattern that the master\u2019s hand had designed.\u00a0 Each crack becoming a river in which His water flowed freely.\u00a0 Each broken edge becoming a waterfall that cascaded as the vessel was filled.\u00a0 A vessel of honor, not in its\u2019 own right but because of what the King had done.\u00a0 Chosen, not left on a shelf.\u00a0 Carried in His loving hands to specific places for specific purposes.\u00a0 Carried with the knowledge that its\u2019 brokenness would allow His water to fall, touch, testify, teach and transform others.\u00a0 Softening other lumps of clay so that the Master could pick them up, tenderly mold them and create other beautifully broken vessels for His glory.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Youthful ignorance saw myself as average.\u00a0 A pretty vessel that could be used by the master but was just as easily left on the shelf as an addition to His collection or passed over in favor of the beautiful vases with curved necks and golden engravings.\u00a0 Acceptable but not extraordinary.
