Something different. \u00a0\u00a0Our hearts are turned from the greater to the lesser.\u00a0 Not because it adds joy to our life but because we passively forget to fight for our joy.<\/p>\n<p>The clamor and busyness of life simply causes us to stop gazing.<\/p>\n<p>To stop thinking.<\/p>\n<p>To stop thanking.<\/p>\n<p>Man doesn\u2019t grow numb. Man grows busy.<\/p>\n<p>Too busy to see.<\/p>\n<p>Too busy to appreciate.<\/p>\n<p>Too busy to count his blessings.<\/p>\n<p>To realize the beauty around him because he can see nothing more than the counterfeit toys that he has grabbed in hopes of filling his soul with the joy that only comes with what he has lost.<\/p>\n<p>The beauty of the sky.<\/p>\n<p>The wonder of a bird in flight.<\/p>\n<p>The awe of the ocean.<\/p>\n<p>The touch of a lover that is so soul satisfying that it causes the heart to ache.<\/p>\n<p>The laugh of a child.<\/p>\n<p>The majesty of a mountain.<\/p>\n<p>The delicate detail of a flower.<\/p>\n<p>The wonder of breath\u2026of life\u2026of love.<\/p>\n<p>The wind on the skin, music in the air and friendship that is confident in silence.<\/p>\n<p>No, man doesn\u2019t grow numb to beauty.\u00a0 We choose to trade it for lesser things.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/karenlawson.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/2014-05-11-12-33-31.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-216\" src=\"https:\/\/karenlawson.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/2014-05-11-12-33-31.jpg\" alt=\"2014-05-11 12.33.31\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>But it\u2019s always there, waiting\u2026and wanting to be seen.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0It\u2019s said that man grows numb to beauty.
