Day 1 to Eternity (A Sabbath prayer of gratitude)

You shaped, surrounded, and held me in my mother’s womb.

You gazed at me with love and rocked me as a child.

You held my hand as I learned (and failed) at so many things.

You gently laid your hand on my shoulder as I rebelled and figured out what it meant to be yours.

You led me with a gentle but steady pressure on my shoulder when I needed direction.

You wrapped an arm around me when I was tired, weak, depressed, and weary.

You wrapped me up in your embrace when I was crushed and broken.

You allowed me to lean on your shoulder when I was alone and tired.

And, You will again, surround me, hold me, rock me, lead me, encourage me, receive me, accept me, forgive me, heal me, hold me and support me with your presence and your hand until the day I run- wholly, completely and gratefully-into your powerful and loving arms.

Psalm 139:5 “You have surrounded me on every side behind and before me, and you have placed your hand gently on my shoulder.”  The VOICE

Psalm 131:2 “I am humbled and quieted in your presence. Like a contented child who rests on its mother’s lap, I’m your resting child and my soul is content in you.” (TPT)
